Clothing Closet
St. James seeks to service all those who are in need of assistance. The Clothing Closet receives donations from parishioners and other community members, of clean, gently used clothing, shoes, and small household items. Volunteers sort and arrange donations and assist the needy. The Clothing Closet is open to the public each Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. A rotation schedule is used to assign those interested in this ministry.

Monthly Miracle Drive
A variety of items are collected each month including food, paper products and school supplies. White Lake Giving Tree
Since 1981, St. James has coordinated efforts in providing Christmas for families in need. Donations of gifts, food and money, as well as countless hours spent by parish and community volunteers, are what makes this ministry possible. Additional collections and fundraising activities take place throughout the year as well. Families receive generous packages of food and gifts, and in 2008, more than 340 families, along with local nursing home residents who are alone, received assistance. Oftentimes, those who spend time with this ministry, comment "it is a gift" to be a part of such a worthwhile undertaking. Many, many, volunteers are needed for such things as: shopping, wrapping, set-up, packing boxes, delivery, tear-down, and clean-up, to name a few.
